Urwa declines lead role with Emraan Hashmi in Bollywood film Azhar

Urwa Hocane, says she would “love to do meaty characters in Bollywood, otherwise she is happy here in Pakistan.”

she added, “I am getting a couple of offers from Bollywood but I just don’t want to cross the border for the sake of it.”

According to the Pakistani actress, she declined to play the lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s latest production Azhar because of the bold scenes. “I don’t want to do bold scenes, but that was not the only reason, I was also busy working on a local production Jhol,” said Urwa.

The film which is based on former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin will see Emraan Hashmi as the lead male.

“My commitment was elsewhere and also I didn’t place my efforts at the same level to play a leading female role in Azhar.”

Azhar, she insists, was offered to her two months back, but her character in Jhol was a role more suited to her which is also one of the reasons why she decided to decline the Bollywood film.
