It seems the Canadian-born popstar from Paris is having a tough time staying
out of the news these days. It has now been confirmed that Abbas Hasan will be
performing in front of fifteen thousand people including all of Bollywood’s glitterati
at the first ever TIMES OF INDIA FILM AWARDS (TOIFA) show which kicks off
in the first week of April! This gives the young star just enough time to catch his
breath before he returns to London for the release of his highly anticipated new
single “Away” which is due out at in the middle of April. Moreover, the young star’s
brand management PearlNoir just announced that Abbas will be the UK brand
ambassador for Nooka, the designer brand from New York.
The French star’s involvement with Bollywood seems to grow continuously; he
starred in a Filmfare award-winning director’s film, performed at Priyanka Chopra’s
film premiere and even did a cameo alongside Shahrukh Khan in a TV advert. He
is rumoured to be touring with a Bollywood legend later this spring and next month
he will be hitting the stage in front of Bollywood’s finest at the TOIFA. The event,
which is being held in Vancouver, Canada, is expected to be one of the hottest
international events in the social calendar for this year. Other artists performing
include the likes of Sunidhi Chauhan and Priyanka Chopra.
Abbas says:
“As an artist, there’s nothing more exciting than getting up on stage. I’m really excited
about performing at the TOIFAs and I’m sure it’s going to be a crazy experience. My
team’s been amazing in organising all this and I’m really grateful to Naila Mughal,
Cineyug, KKings Entertainment and of course the Times of India group for choosing
me and making it happen. My Habibis better be ready for what’s coming!”
After his return from Vancouver, the star is all set to unveil his brand new single
“Away” at a private red carpet event to celebrate the release and premiere
his new music video which also stars actress and upcoming Bollywood heroine
Humaima Malick, whose film with Sunjay Dutt and Vivek Oberoi releases later this
year. The song, which is produced by Rishi Rich himself has also been worked on
by his protégé Naamless, and its video has been directed by Adnan Qazi. After two
number one hits in the Asian charts, anticipation for Abbas Hasan’s new single with
Rishi Rich is high.
